Back to dessert...YUM!
This is a recipe that I've had in my recipe folder, but for some reason, haven't pulled in out in a LONG time...I mean, years and years. Well, tonight was the night to break it out and share with some friends. And, it was delish!
If you don't like peanuts or peanut butter, then this one is not for you. But, if you do, then please happily proceed!
Chocolate Crunch Peanut Butter Bars
Base:
1 package Pillsbury Moist Supreme Butter Recipe Cake Mix
1 cup Crunchy Peanut Butter
1/3 cup water
1 egg
Topping:
1 Cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 Cup crunchy peanut butter
1 1/2 cups slightly crushed cornflake cereal
Heat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, combine all "base" ingredients at low speed until well blended. Press evenly in ungreased 15x10x1 in baking pan. Bake @ 375 for 13 to 18 min. (mine took only 13) or until light golden brown. Cool slightly.
In medium saucepan, melt chocolate chips over low heat, stirring constantly. Stir in 1/2 cup peanut butter and cereal. Spread over slightly cooled base. Refrigerate to set topping. Cut into bars.
Enjoy the deliciousness!
